Our Story

The 4minds Project was set up in July 2009 via a partnership with: Dalgarno Neighbourhood Trust (DNT); My Generation; Chelsea Theatre and Kensington & Chelsea Social Council (KCSC).

The project is funded through the NHS Kensington & Chelsea Primary Care Trust (PCT) until March 2011, and is part of the national strategy in the Delivering Race Equality Agenda.  The project has been set up to focus on delivering improved mental health care and treatment to people from the BME communities within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

Our core work focuses on three key issues in RBKC and, in accordance with the building blocks of the DRE:

  • Tackling stigma and raising awareness in mental health
  • More accessible mental health services for BME communities
  • More appropriate and responsive mental health services
